Saab 99 1976 D Harcourt-Brown "Normally I'm very sceptical of such devices. However I decided to give it a try in our Saab 99 which we have owned since 1979. It was introduced into the petrol tank at 96,000 and transferred to a BMW at 127,000 miles. During this period the performance just got better, it ran smoother, starting improved and the choke could be restored much quicker. Miles per gallon improved by about 7% and all on lead free petrol. Additionally during MOT's the low emission read out was often commented on. Compression when sold were as new at 165/170 pounds per square inch."
1988 Saab 900i, 106,000 miles C Martin-Ross "I admit to being convinced before I bought one, but was absolutely stunned by its effects.... I had no need for any running in period, upon ignition the effect was dramatic - a quiet engine. My perception of increased power is wholly personal of course but my petrol consumption has decreased dramatically"
Saab Turbo 900 A R Law "I did not anticipate much of an increase in MPG from a middle aged car with six figures on the clock....to my pleasure I noted a 3% improvement. More favourable exhaust emissions appeared from the print out of my latest MOT. A simple calculation will show that to date I have saved £65.00. I have no idea how Broquet works, all I know is that every 100 miles I cover I am 80p better off."
Saab 900 GLS Auto R Blaikie "I put the Broquet into the tank at 119,000 miles. Within a fortnight the engine ran smoother and quieter. I noticed that the plugs did not have the build-up of carbon on them that was usual between inspection, also the engine oil did not seem to go black so quickly between oil changes. All this plus a few miles per gallon extra not to mention the saving on fuel cost. I was impressed."
Saab 99 L H Summers C.Eng. M.I.E.E. "My definite impression is that the engine runs more smoothly, has about 10% more power and fuel consumption is improved (although I have not kept records of fuel consumption for some time). When I towed the smaller caravan my consumption of 4* petrol was about 20 - 22 mpg. With the other van and running on unleaded I am getting a good 25 mpg, possibly slightly more, and undoubtedly more power. Colortune checks with the unleaded fuel shows perfect combustion compared with the slightly weak figure previously experienced with 4*. MOT emission tests have amazed the testers."

Above are extracts from letters received from Saab owners about their experience of Broquet. Copies of the full letters have been lodged with Mr Barrie Richardson, Production Editor, Saab DRIVER.

Additional Note. The Saab Owners Club, SOC, have undertaken their own product test on Broquet. Saab DRIVER (Oct/Nov '98) reported that the switch to unleaded was totally unnoticeable. The engine was smoother and more lively and the temperature gauge read slightly lower. A second test on emissions showed that they were reduced. An improvement of a few mpg in fuel consumption was evident. The test was carried out by Stephen Holliday, 90/99 Registrar, who was so pleased with Broquet that he purchased three more units for use in his other elderly Saabs.
